About
Jean-Louis Ceccaldi
HMONP architect, based between Ajaccio and Évisa, southern Corsica. A practice attentive to place and materials, focused on building considered architecture rather than ostentation.
Career
To design is, first of all, to listen to the place.
Trained at the École Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris, Jean-Louis Ceccaldi earned his architecture diploma in 2015 and his HMONP qualification — the authority to practise project management in his own name.
In 2014, he joined the participatory build « Ensemble édifions autrement » in Máncora, Peru — a collective experience that durably shaped his relationship to matter, gesture and the common.
Returning to Corsica, he founded his studio in 2018 in Évisa, a village of the inland between mountain and sea. The practice grows from a precise reading of the Mediterranean context — topography, climate, light, local materials.
This specialisation was consolidated in 2021 with the university degree « Quality of the Built Environment in Mediterranean Settings » from the University of Corsica Pascal Paoli. The studio currently runs residential and refurbishment projects, in collaboration with the territory's craftspeople.
